The original Bear Flag had a brief career, from about June 14 until July 9, 1846 when it was replaced with the Stars and Stripes. The star was taken from the California Lone Star flag and the bear was meant as a symbol of strength and unyielding resistance. The bear on early bear flags more closely resembles the more common American black bear than the grizzly seen on today’s flag.
Multiple item orders may be shipped from different locations in separate packages.
Fulfillment:
Hats will be fulfilled in about 1 business day.
Apparel items and accessories are usually fulfilled in 3-8 business days.
Standard Delivery:
Domestic orders will be shipped using USPS at a flat rate.
Expedited Delivery:
We currently don't offer expedited shipping options.
International Delivery:
We're able to ship internationally at international shipping rates.
Deliveries will automatically be left at the specified address by the carrier if there is no response. Delivery times are not guaranteed but are our best approximation and can vary according to unforeseen variables like weather and sabotage of the United States Postal Service.
Apparel Returns
All apparel items offered by Civil Standard are made-to-order, meaning they’re printed specifically for you and are considered final sale. Made-to-order processes minimize surplus inventory and apparel waste, making them more environmentally friendly.
If you receive a defective product it can be refunded to the original form of payment or exchanged for a product replacement. Notification of defective products must be submitted within 14 days of receiving your order. Please send an email to civilworks@civilstandard.com with a picture of the product defect. In the case of shirts/hoodies, lay it out flat in its natural ‘T’ shape and take a picture from above with the whole item and printed design in the frame.
Headwear Returns
All unworn headwear not explicitly labeled as "non-returnable" or "final sale" on the product page - at the time of sale - may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase. Please note that the cost of all returns and exchanges sent to us are the responsibility of the customer. You can ship your item with your packing slip or order confirmation email to:

Order Cancellations
Requests for order cancellations must be made within 12 hours of submitting the order. Any requests after 12 hours of order cannot be guaranteed, but we'll do our best! Once production/fulfillment on an order has begun it cannot be canceled.
