Hale America "Health" T-Shirt

The "Health" patch was worn on Major League Baseball uniforms during the 1942 baseball season in support of "Hale America," a national health initiative in the lead up to America's involvement in WWII in an effort to build national stamina, endurance, and vigor from the bottom up. The program called for community participation in simple exercises such as riding, hiking, softball and soccer games.

Seems crazy...but then again, I remember getting a certificate with the Presidential Seal for the sit-and-reach in elementary school - with Reagan's signature and all - which also seems pretty crazy. But hey, we're all for the government looking out for our national health, so here's to a hale and hearty America!
