P.J. O'Rourke apparently had it right; not about the February 9th anniversary of The Beatles on Ed Sullivan (that would take no guesswork), but about the avalanche of "one more 1960s changed-the-world-forever thing" that we're destined to endure for the next six years.
First I Have A Dream, then JFK, and now the Beatles. It's getting old.
Hat tip, though, to CBS and The Late Show - which is housed in the same studio used by Ed Sullivan - for changing their marquee to exactly how it looked for that infamous taping fifty years ago. The originality...and subtlety...is much appreciated.
